River Line Light Rail

Katherine Hackl Public Art - River Line Light Rail

The River Line Light Rail project is a collaborative art installation that includes 20 new station stops between Trenton and Camden. Three artists, Katherine Hackl, Hiroshi Murata, and Marilyn Keating were individually selected in 1997 by a committee established by the New Jersey State Council of the Arts, NJTransit, DMJM Engineering and local arts organizations. The artist's partnership, KHMK, LLC, designed and fabricated all the artwork for the new light rail system. Between 2000 and 2003 KHMK produced extensive decorative tile installations in all the canopy columns, platform railings, newel posts and individual sculptures.
